Decoratelier Scenography Workshop
  • August - September 2025

I participated in a two-week scenography, stage design, and construction workshop with the design group Decoratelier in Brussels, leading up to the Boring Symposium, a series of talks exploring soil, urban soil pollution, and excavation practices. During the workshop, I assisted in creating a presentation space for a talk on mycelium and its ability to capture cadmium from polluted soil (images 2-5), helped design and build a bar table for the symposium’s bar (image 6), and contributed to earth-based installations by mixing sieved dirt and sand to shape seating areas and a dome (images 7-10). During the event itself, I supported presentations and live demonstrations, including a talk that involved margarita making and serving (image 11). The experience was an amazing opportunity to immerse myself in Brussels’ DIY artistic scene, their culture, collaborate with inspiring creatives, and refine my hands-on design and construction skills.
