Kollektiv Kreativ
  • Fall 2022
A wandering prototype for a multi-disciplinary artist community living and working in Berlin’s post-industrial fabric. What would it be like if you could wake up, open your doors and be at your workplace? What if this studio was shared with other creative individuals that share the same values and intention to build community? I intend to investigate collective living into more than sharing amenities and square footage but to commemorate the process, production, and exhibition of creative work.

Supporting essay: Reflections on Live/Work in Past/Present/Future

Inspired by the growing typology of creative artists working together and sharing ateliers, I’m exploring the typology of living and working in the creative fields and how this can be implemented in various post-industrial building structures.

Connect living, working and exhibition spaces through circulation, creating pathways through platforms hanging throughout the building. This moves the residents and guests through the space and showcases art as the production and final result.

Section: Charcoal, Pen, and Digital.
The artist enters through the exhibition space, by climbing stairs and walking through ateliers, they reach the units that are located on the corners, opening up to the ateliers in the middle, and allowing light coming in from above to illuminate the workspaces and the units. The guest, entering through the exhibition space, is enticed to check out the venue towards the back of the building. By climbing stairs and walkways, they arrive at the atelier they came to visit.
